We have complimentary parking for hotel residents. The car park entrance is located on Magpie Lane to the rear of the hotel, accessed through Merton Street off the High Street. Alternatively, Old Bank is easily accessible by public transit via Oxford’s Park & Ride services. Buses run regularly from early morning until late in the evening, taking you directly to the heart of the city from any of the five Park & Ride sites around the ring road.

We have 43 rooms at the Old Bank. Our sister hotel, the Old Parsonage, has 35 rooms close by.
Check-in is guaranteed from 3pm. Check-out is politely requested by 11am. Late departures may be arranged at our discretion, dependent on room availability.
We have Classic double rooms, Deluxe rooms, Superior Deluxe rooms, Superior Deluxe rooms with a balcony, a Junior Suite, a Suite, The Room With The View, and a ground-floor accessible room.
All our hotel rooms have tea- and coffee-making facilities. A selection of our higher room categories offers Nespresso machines. Tea and coffee are also available for room service delivery 24 hours a day.
The majority of our deluxe rooms and most higher room categories at Old Bank offer baths and showers. Some include a shower over the bath, while others have a separate walk-in shower. At Old Parsonage, most deluxe rooms and all higher room categories offer baths and showers. Classic Double Rooms feature walk-in waterfall showers.
We don’t have a gym, however, there are some close by. If you prefer running, we can suggest some lovely routes, one of which is through Christ Church Meadow just a few minutes away.
Our front-facing rooms have superb views across the High Street toward St Mary’s Church directly opposite, as well as Radcliffe Square and the domed roof of the Radcliffe Camera. If you’re seeking a quieter charm, our upper rear-facing rooms look onto elegant Merton College.
Being right in the city centre, there are many colleges close by. The nearest are Christ Church, Merton College, and Corpus Christi College, just behind us on Merton Street. All Souls College, University College and The Queen’s College are on the High Street just outside our front door.
We are happy to arrange chauffeur services or taxis for airport transfers. There are also regular coach services to and from Oxford, 24 hours a day, and the stops are just a two-minute walk away.
We’re about a 15-minute walk from the train station and about ten minutes on foot from Gloucester Green bus and coach station. Taxis are readily available both to and from each station.
The Old Bank is on the High Street in the middle of Oxford.
Mr Mogford plans to update a catalogue of his extensive collection. He has another large interesting collection at our sister property, the Old Parsonage.
For all bedroom categories, apart from ‘Room 1’, we have a 48-hour cancellation policy; reservations must be cancelled or amended by 3pm GMT two days prior to your arrival to avoid a cancellation charge. This differs for long-stay reservations, and group reservations are reviewed case by case. Further details can be found in our terms & conditions.

All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid credit card at the time of booking. The full cost of your accommodation will be debited on arrival, with incidental costs (restaurant bills, laundry, mini bar usage, etc) to be paid on departure. The card provided will be charged for any outstanding charge, following departure.
Yes, we do. Our accessible Classic room is on the ground floor, overlooking the Italian garden terrace.
We allow guide dogs and assistance dogs to accompany owners during overnight stays. We will always consider any request to bring your dog to the hotel on a case-by-case basis, with supporting evidence of the dog’s size, behaviour and circumstances under which you may wish to bring them. We’re a city centre hotel and would suggest that large dogs would not be suitable for overnight stays.
Our bicycles are too large for children. Children’s bicycles are available to hire locally.
We do, yes. Oxford alumni card holders benefit from a 10% discount on the best available rate for accommodation from Sundays to Thursdays. On Friday and Saturday nights, alumni will be offered the best available rate at the time of booking. The discount applies to rooms only if you book directly with the hotel by telephone or email. Please provide your alumni number at the time of booking.
